School Also Wins 2nd Place for Best Debate Pair (Gavriella Klein and Lauren Sherman) and 3rd Place for Best Speaker (Lauren Sherman)
This past Wednesday, TAGHS won FIRST PLACE in the final major interscholastic girls debate tournament of the year! The debate, hosted by and held at Bruriah High School in Elizabeth, NJ, involved four other schools, including Kushner High School, Ezra Academy, Stella K. Abraham High School (SKA/HALB), and Bruriah High School. TAGHS affirmative debate team (Rivka Leah Horowitz and Shifra Levy) and negative debate team (Gavriella Klein and Lauren Sherman) successfully argued U.S. deportation policy on illegal immigrants. Gavriella and Lauren won second place for best debate pair and Lauren won third place for best speaker at the event.
As wonderful as the winnings were the comments made to TAGHS about our school. The Bruriah Torah Bowl coach told us how incredible our Torah Bowl team is and how we "crushed" them. A Bruriah teacher pulled our team aside to tell us how "impressive" and "professional" our school is. SKA was eager to invite us to a tournament at their school during the upcoming academic year.
The debate team is indebted to Rabbi Ephraim Goldfein for his time, dedication, and superior training. Thank you! We hope that you will be on board with us next year. Thank you, Chaya Myer, for coming through at the last minute and joining us as a judge.
Join us for the final debate of the year as Prospect Park Yeshiva comes to TAGHS for a public debate TBA.

Basketball Team Joins TAGHS at JCC for Fabulous Monday Night Game
We got game! TAGHS hosted Bais Yaakov of Baltimore's basketball team for a Monday night game at the Kaiserman JCC. Although the final score was in favor of the visitors, it was an impressive showing by both teams, and everyone had a great time. Thank you, Yocheved Heyman and captain Raquel Kabel, for coaching this year.
