TA Wins Debate Against Prospect Park Yeshiva

Team Successfully Argues for Spending a Post-High School Year in Israel

The debate team traveled to New York, where Shifra Levy and Leba Baum represented our school in a public debate about spending a year post-high school in Israel.  Our team argued professionally and well and, after winning the debate, joined the Prospect Park juniors for a lunch and discussion about music censorship in the Jewish community.  Thank you to Rabbi Ephraim Goldfein for all his time and effort coaching the winning team.  Thank you to Mrs. Suri Rabinovici for being the best judge and coming to all our meets!

Debate Team Wins Best Team, 2nd Place Speaker, and 2nd Place in Kushner High School Debate

The Debate Team did it again!  After winning three out of four debates on the space program, the team came in second place in a debate at Kushner High School.  The Team also won best team (Rivka Leah Horowitz and Leba Baum) and 2nd place speaker (Leeba Baum).  We're looking forward to the big Bruriah all-girls debate on April 9!  Once again, thank you Rabbi Goldfein for all your time and superb coaching and Mrs. Rabinovici for being a #1 judge and joining us (even when we come home after midnight).

What a Weekend!   Under the guidance of our ever-dedicated and ever-professional, and ever-fun Mrs. Nomi Levene, TAGHS traveled to the Holiday Inn in Edison, NJ, for an awesome and inspiring weekend shabbaton!  Joining us was Dr. Rivka Press Schwartz, BJJ and Princeton graduate and SAR HS history instructor and director of religious studies, who offered several moving talks on our theme, "K'Shoshana Bein Hachochim".  Workshops on Shabbos day were inspirational as well as practical; the food was unbelievable!; and our magic show on Thursday night (after a Chinese food dinner) was incredible.  After a beautiful Shabbos, the weekend culminated with a video presentation of--our play, Cinderella!  Everyone watched and enjoyed a motzei Shabbos ice cream party.  Thank you, Mrs. Levene, and Shabbaton heads Tovi Press and Simma Levene for such a moving and fun Shabbaton.
