TAGHS Parents Honored at School Dinner

Congratulations to David and Sima Sherman
This past Sunday's scholarship dinner was both beautiful and a record-breaking success.  We at TAGHS would once again like to extend a tremendous mazal tov to David and Sima Sherman and senior Lauren on being the school honorees.  The Shermans have been dedicated parents who have positively supported and assisted our school for many years.  Through their efforts, our debate team has become--within 2 1/2 years!--award winning and successful.  Mazal tov!

In preparation for the upcoming debate with Prospect Park Yeshiva, Rabbi Ephraim Goldfein, of Columbia University's debate team, coached the TAGHS team to prepare them particularly for the cross-examination segment of the debate.  Rabbi Goldfein will be returning next week to provide further support for the March 17 event.  Thank you, Rabbi Goldfein, for all your help and your delightful presentation.

Rabbi Lichtenstein Returns

TAGHS principal, Rabbi Baruch Lichtenstein, recently returned from a one-week hiatus in Israel.  Rabbi Lichtenstein spent the week liaising with various seminary principals and program coordinators to ensure that TAGHS students are adequately prepared for seminary level study.  With the choice of seminaries becoming more and more varied, our principal renewed his professional relationships with senior semimary Menahim and Menahalot and visited principals of new seminaries, assuring that our students will have the information they need to make wise choices regarding their seminary applications.  All twenty graduates from our Class of 2007 are presently thriving in their new schoools.  Rabbi Lichtenstein "kveled" as he sat down to a class reunion dinner attended by all 20 alunmae.  Our present seniors, the  Class of 2008, are already "packing their bags" in anticipation of their forthcoming year in Eretz Yisroel.   To date, nearly every senior will be spending her year after high school in an Israel program.  "The fact that our graduates do so well is a result of the unwavering dedication of our staff to the academic and Hashkafic development of our students", Rabbi Lichtenstein said.  "Our students are truly the jewel of our educational accomplishments".  Indeed, we are very proud of every one of them.
